Gentle Moon 03:47
Gentle moon, you are shining in the shape of a human body You are a rock You pull that solid earth tide right out of my body Send me pictures, send me a movie where the roles all shift and bend partway through I can tell you’re a cloud in the shape of a body I hold my own shape to hold you Oh! Come back to me! Then: Move away, move away! But come back elliptically I can tell you’re no far star for how you burn in a slow moving arc Cold! but you feel so near to me Here in my body in the shape of a body in the shape of my body Ha!

No Birds 03:19
no birds he says with a friendly conviction oh but i know that i saw at the top of that tree something lurking no time he says with a face soft and certain oh but i swear that i saw that fresh day slipping out past the curtain and that the light that i saw was the idea with which I’d been flirting no way he says while I’m not even looking oh but i trust that they tried and there was no way
3.
Quail's Egg 04:10
The day I thought I’d die I was somewhere in between The day I thought I’d die nothing was happening There was a hag she was wading she was wading she was rising from the sea In her hand there was a shell it was a horn it was a quail’s egg The day I thought it’d happen I was wading in the sea I was a breeze

taste of elastic band is on my lip wet water brings it the season brings do we dare to ask for what we want do we dare to ask for anything more when it’s the warmth that brings the water when it’s the water brings the land when it’s your warmth that brings the water when it’s the water brings that land shape of elastic band brings your strength of elastic band when that warmth could fall to everything at all
5.
Synesthetics 02:44
I thought it was the rolling heat of thick desire’s call It was the cream of summer’s change is all I thought it was the smell of wanting sloughed off body salts It was the coloured flag of change flung full I thought it was a sound once made, the mind off somewhere else An animal republic nestled deep within the self and it was I thought it was the muscle aching for resistant force I thought it was the body breaking in and it was it was it was it was. it was it was it was. it was it was it was it was it was
6.
Fish Walk 04:02
Long walk through a thin thought If you wanted to touch it you’d step sideways and slip through In the water there is a dragonfly larvae in that pool stretched over the sea In the fish there is a shape that breathes water It’s the water the fish’s blood needs Maybe it’s in what we wait for Maybe it is what we wait for Maybe it is the wait Maybe it’s in what we wait for Maybe it is what we wait for Maybe it is the wait Maybe it’s in what we wait for Maybe it is what we wait for Maybe it is the wait Maybe it’s in what we wait for Maybe it is what we wait for Maybe it is the wait You go down that hill again, put the fish back in the water

Well the knife cuts, at the sharp edge: the deeper it slides the dearer you hold it. And that jacket was reflective: you looked like the moon whenever you wore it. You pass through, you pass through it. Yeah you pass back through, when you come back to it. Ha! Well that bull hits, with its bull’s head: a part of you bends, and a part of you bruises. And those small birds looked just like half moons: they shone with the sunlight, reflected, reflected. You pass through! You pass back through it. Yeah you pass back through, when you come back to it. You pass through! You pass through it. Yeah you pass back through, when you tether yourself to it. You come back to it, you come back to it. Ha. Ha! Well that one bird slips, sure as a bullet: out of your chest, and over your head. And that thought thins out, as you stand there watching it: A part of you lifts. (You pass through, you pass through it. Yeah you pass back through.)

Yr Name 02:54
When you stand at the window can you feel what you see moving there? A cold snow blowing in the air When you lay down beside that one can you see what you feel moving there? One thin thought pressed soft to the skinny wrist Well you line yourself with some kind of distance a car that drives past you in the night Inside, someone singing your name When you leave in the morning you take it all but you leave behind your hair A soft script left littered everywhere Well you guard yourself against all kinds of drifting A torn white flag cut loose flaps free in the wind in a pattern that’s saying inside that harm is some kind of lifting a car you could drive in all through the night and inside you are saying a name you hold close to a name you hold to that name but you can’t say that name well it’s a name like:
10.
There’s a sign on the window that says: you’d better back off but you’ve been standing so long in the fog of your breath that the sound rolling round in that glass is mixed with the rolling blood rolling ‘round in your neck Your life force mmm mmm all mixed up with what you’re seeing in there Between your ear and your other ear take a pause, if you can For between this year and that other year light bends. Light bends. There’s a sign on the window that says: you better act fast But I say: be so slow! Yeah let the time pass and pass Till you can turn from the window to what was reflected on it Then you turn around. Yeah, you enter it. Become your own outcast! be kind to that outcast And if there’s a sign on the window well Bless it.
11.
There was no sound in the brightest part of the room. Though it shone, it was painful to consume. Well i cried for it in the kitchen, and i cried for it in the stair. I was crying for the distance unrepaired. You blew me a kiss, and you pushed it into my heart. Although we don’t want to, we must part we must part we must part.
